CytoTrack is a novel technology for Rare Cell Detection (RCD) and detection of Circulating Tumor Cells (CTC). It provides a number of important improved features compared to the common technologies available on the market today.

CytoTrack is designed for the specific challenges that characterize CTC detection. CytoTrack has an extreme high scanning capacity. One million blood cells is scanned in just one minute!

Importantly, CytoTrack eliminates the need for pre-selection with EpCAM. Many types of cancer cells show little or no EpCAM expression and can therefore not be detected. CytoTrack can include EpCAM as an antibody but is not restricted to it.

The CytoTrack technology has a very high sensitivity that makes it possible to detect even the weakest fluorescent signals from each single target cell.

CytoTrack combines quantitative detection of CTC (enumeration) and qualitative detection (molecular characterization of the individual target cell).

The high sensitivity of the CytoTrack technology enables detection of many more cells than by conventional rare cell technologies. CytoTrack eliminates the need for pre-selection with EpCAM antibody. Many types of cancer cells show little or no EpCAM expression.

CytoTrack is a general purpose instrument. We provide a CTC protocol (based on CK antibodies) but you are free to experiment with your own antibodies. Some clients use GFP (green fluorescent protein).

CytoTrack incorporates a high resolution camera that provides detailed images of target cells. Because cells are not covered with EpCAM magnetic particles the morphology is clear and unaffected.

CytoTrack can scan 100 million cells in just one minute. Large sample sizes (up to 30 ml) can easily be processed.

The technology combines the virtues of flowcytometry (fast fluorescent scanning) and scanning microscopy (detailed image analysis) in one instrument!
